ビジネス情報を編集する해평열녀 사당의 유래는 해평열녀의 성명이나 생활연대는 알 수 없지만 그가 살던 마을이름을 따서 『 해평열녀 』 라고 불려오고 있다고 전해진다. 전설에는 그녀가 시집온 지 몇 달 뒤에 남편이 고기 잡으러 바다에 나갔다가 풍랑으로 빠져 죽었다고 한다. 그녀는 남편이 빠졌다는 곳을 찾아가서 제를 지낸 다음 바다에 몸을 던져 사흘만에 남편의 시체를 안고 떠올라 마을 사람들이 그들 부부를 합장하였는데, 마을 뒷산 나뭇잎을 벌레가 열녀란 두글자를 새기면서 갉아먹었다고 전해지고 있다. 이는 해평열녀의 정렬에 하늘도 감동한 것이라 하여 마을 사람들이 사당을 세우고 사철 향을 올렸다고 한다. 『 해평열녀기실비 』 는 1932년에 세워졌다고 한다.
