석장리박물관

공주 지역의 구석기 문화의 역사적 가치를 지속적으로 보존하고 이를 발전적으로 계승하기 위하여 건립하였습니다.공주 석장리 구석기 유적지 사적을 보존하고 전시하기 위하여 1991년 12월 전시관 설계를 완료하였고, 1996년 4월에 설계 승인을 받았습니다. 1997년 3월에 공사를 착공하였으며, 1999년 12월 완료하였습니다. 2005년 5월에 전시관을 박물관으로 변경하기로 하고 유물을 확보하여 2006년 2월 1종 전문박물관으로 등록하였습니다. 2006년 9월 26일 박물관의 부대 시설을 완공하고 개관하였습니다.전시는 상설 전시, 기획 전시, 야외 전시로 나누어 실시하고 있습니다. 선사 문화에 대한 다양한 교육 자료를 제공하고, 교육 기관 및 학술 단체와 연계하여 각종 세미나와 강연을 개최하고 있습니다. 학생들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 어린이 그림 그리기 대회와 선사 퀴즈 대회, 생각하고 느끼는 박물관 수업 등 다양한 프로그램을 추진하고 있습니다. 선사시대의 유적을 관람하고 직접 체험함으로써 선사 문화에 대한 이해를 높이고, 선사 유적과 문화를 보유하고 있는 지역으로서의 긍지를 가질 수 있게 하고 있습니다.
